Inspiration
Beni Ouarain rugs can be considered the most traditional of Berber rugs. Originally, they were used as floor insulation in the tents of the Beni Ourain tribes, in the mountainous Middle Atlas region of Morocco. They provided the perfect solution for sleeping and keeping warm during the harsh winter months. Each rug is hand-knotted using the ancient Berber knotting technique, preserving the emotions and history of the tribe that wove it. Through their decorative motifs, these rugs often represent significant life phases such as marriage and fertility or universal themes like luck and protection against evil. These rugs are more than just functional items; they are woven stories, reflecting both the cultural heritage and the spiritual values of the Berber people.
